Notes

Efficient working:

  • Good issue review efforts are important
  • Less is more (long issues, texts, etc. != good necessarily)
  • If several issues are dependent on each other, you can continue working on them all and stack MRs, and make branches on branches
  • Only work on things which are clear, otherwise ask questions early

Thesis (example - Hannes, methodology chapter; points are general though):

  • Say as little as possible, but as detailed as necessary
  • Prepare the reader for what will be written
  • If the chapter name is not so clear, then write a short introduction/summary what it's about
  • Applies to the thesis overall
  • Main message in abstract & introduction should be spread throughout the whole thesis; also repeated in conclusion

Next week - presentation by Elia

looked at designs of new Permaplant merch (cups and T-shirts)

Status round:

  • Vseslav: quite a few MRs made but need small fixes; question - rescrape before release? (talk about in the second half)
  • Patrick: working on written thesis and issues, currently in progress
  • Noah: working on tickets/issue review
  • Lukas: less time last week but focusing on issues this week; meeting next week with Adam Moritz
  • Lea: almost every release critical issue done; plant width issue will work on today; slow advancements on the formalization issue
  • Johannes: back full time, starting on backend performance issues, add estimates on issues; question - do estimations include the blocking issues? (answer - it's a rough estimation, doesn't need to be precise, but should be only for the specific issue)
  • Elia: completed 2 issues last week; a few release critical issues (not all doable this week)
  • Hannes: trying to get all the MRs done until next Monday; main message - MR maintenance; question - should it be written in chat how important certain MRs are? (answer - no; just use the labels); specific feedback questions (ping Markus, address later); question - methodology + results chapter together? (answer - no; the more separated, the better); the rest of the questions will be taken a look later

Warm shower for Patrick :)

Issues round: - Vseslav: smaller scraper code & database release-critical issues to be done, fetch german names issue maybe, babysit MRs, new rescrape after release; no new issues assigned after release - Vseslav: smaller scraper code & database release-critical issues to be done, fetch German names issue maybe, babysit MRs, new rescrape after release - Patrick: everything is in progress, feedback implemented - Noah: pretty much same status as before; release critical MRs waiting for feedback - Lukas: keycloak issues; TU Wien account issue - communication with TU Wien - Lea: release critical issues in review; plant size issue questions answered - Johannes: issues in progress; assigned previously unassigned release critical issue - Hannes: some unclarities in decision and Nextcloud issues, to be written about later - Elia: release critical issues in progress doable; the rest maybe not; presentation next week
